Electronic Arts will premiere the next Battlefield game on May 6, the studio announced. The publisher teases that it will reveal "the future of Battlefield," although EA's keeping further details close to the vest.
The Battlefield premiere event will kick off at 4 p.m. ET, according to the series' website. Creative director Lars Gustavsson and lead producer Aleksander Grondal will discuss not just what's coming next for the franchise, but also talk about the past and present of Battlefield during the event. They'll also field questions from fans during the stream.
Polygon will keep fans posted on how and where to watch the event closer to the date itself; we'll also have more details on the new game following the reveal.
The most recent entry in EA's long-running first-person shooter series was Battlefield Hardline, a spin-off, in 2015. Its latest expansion, Getaway, brought new modes and maps to the game this past January. Check out our review for more on Hardline, now available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
