See what Batman: The Killing Joke looks like as an animated feature

Teaser offers a first glimpse, behind-the-scenes video features much more

Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

The animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's famed Batman novella, The Killing Joke, is coming to screens this year, probably around this summer. Yesterday DC offered the first glimpses of what it will look like, in a teaser and in an extended sneak peek video.

The teaser is above. The sneak peek is below. Both show a faithful representation of iconic panels and sequences from The Killing Joke, with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill supplying the voices of Batman and the Joker, respectively as they have over decades of animated series and video games.

Hamill posted the sneak peek on his Facebook page this morning. Batfans will probably want to watch the whole thing to scoop up more details about the film, which will include a new prologue.

Batman: The Killing Joke is expected to premiere at San Diego Comic-Con in July, and it may even get the first R-rating in Batman's cinematic history.
