Call of Duty hype vid introduces smug bad guy, teases full reveal

Whoever the 'Settlement Defense Front' is, they sound pissed

A hype video for Call of Duty's next game is up on Facebook, Twitch and YouTube right now, and it appears to introduce the series' latest enemy. If nothing else, we can expect some final, major reveal and confirmation of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare soon.

The video is just a loop of a belligerent message from some guy who studied at the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson school of mic work. Cueball there introduces his faction as the Salmon? Solomon? Defense Front or something. Oh, it's Settlement Defense Front. Alright. They're angry, whoever they are.

Distorted freeze frames from the video seem to match the teaser now in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's Nuk3town map, where a huge ass airship arrives and blows everything to hell before Nuk3town goes offline. The SDF's taunter-in-chief also wears a logo similar to the one seen elsewhere.

Outed by a tab on the PlayStation Store last week, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare continues to be a terribly kept secret, but we'll play along because it's a weekend. Promotional materials have already revealed plans to release a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare along with the game. It will be included in a "Legacy Edition" when the game launches Nov. 4.
