Feminist Frequency will host a six-hour livestream this Thursday, April 7, as it counts down to the end of its latest crowdfunding campaign. Members of the non-profit organization, fronted by media critic Anita Sarkeesian, will play games and spend time with "special guests" at Double Fine Productions (developer of Psychonauts, Broken Age) from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT.
The event, which will air live on Twitch, leads right up to the end of Feminist Frequency's campaign period for Ordinary Women. As she explains in the video above, the series will feature Sarkeesian discussing some of history's most notable women across all disciplines. Work on the project has already begun, with the first episode set to premiere in September.
Backers have put up $155,000 of the requested $200,000 on crowdfunding platform Seed and Spark. Feminist Frequency's current project, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, raised $158,000 on Kickstarter in 2012. A new episode of that series, also hosted by Sarkeesian, recently premiered; it's currently in its second, and final, season.
