The Four Horsemen take center stage in new X-Men: Apocalypse featurette

Gearing up for the biggest battle yet

One of the newest additions to Bryan Singer's final installment in the X-Men trilogy, Apocalypse, is the introduction of the Four Horsemen.

The Horsemen are essentially a team of super mutants created by Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac in the movie) for combat purposes, and act as his most trusted soldiers during battle. In the film, those four mutants include Storm, Magneto, Psylocke and Archangel.

Fox has released a new featurette ahead of the film's release that provides some insight into the Horsemen's mission with Apocalypse and what their role is in the brewing war between themselves and Charles Xavier's team of mutants. In the video, Olivia Munn (who plays Psylocke) says that it's the biggest fight yet, with the fate of the entire world at stake. Michael Fassbender, who will reprise his role as a young Magneto, echoed the sentiment.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters May 27.
