PlayStation 4's next big update arrives tomorrow, adds PC remote play

Dailymotion now a broadcast option on PlayStation 4, other social features added

The PlayStation 4's newest software update will be out tomorrow, April 6, adding PC remote play capabilities, a new live streaming channel, and several improvements to its social networking features, among others.

With the update, the PS4 will support remote play on PCs running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 or later and Mac OS X 10.10 and 10.11. Dailymotion has been added as a broadcast option for streaming gameplay.

Of the new social features, users may now choose to appear offline; be notified when their friends come online; schedule events with their friends so that all are automatically added to a party at a certain date and time; and view what everyone in a party is playing so that members may more easily join one another's games.

Additionally, a new PlayStation Plus hub will direct users to easier access and management of their online storage, plus the latest free games offered by the service. A PlayStation Network Status box has been added to the Settings > Network tab, too.

There are more changes coming with update 3.50; see them here. The PlayStation 4's last major software update came in September.
