Spider-Man is set to make his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) this May, but it won't be the only time he teams up with members of the Avengers.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly that Spider-Man will be joined by a few other superheroes when his standalone movie is released in 2017. Although Feige didn't say which superheroes would be joining the web-slinging teen, played by Tom Holland, he did mention that it was crucial they incorporated Spider-Man as much as they could into the MCU. Feige previously said they were exploring opportunities to have members of the MCU join the Sony production, and it looks like they've figured out how to do it.
"He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth," Feige said.
Spider-Man, which has belonged to Sony for years, will make his Marvel debut as a member of Iron-Man's team in Captain America: Civil War. Audiences got their first look at the superhero in the most recent trailer for the film. Holland will also join a few of the Civil War stars next Wednesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about the movie and his new role in it.
Not much else is known about the solo Spider-Man movie, but Holland will star and it will be directed by Jon Watts, best known for his independent thriller Cop Car.
Those looking to get their Spidey fix, however, can do so on May 6 when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters.
