Fallout: New Vegas gets the 'quick loot' system that made Fallout 4 so convenient

Modder brings time-saving plundering method to a classic

Fallout 4's useful, time-saving "quick loot" menu is now a part of Fallout: New Vegas on PC, thanks to the efforts of one dedicated modder.

As can be seen in the video above, players can search, take and store items in New Vegas just as they do in Fallout 4, without laboriously bringing up an inventory screen for each container, cabinet or dead body. It also makes one of the most common acts in the RPG series consistent across its two latest games, for those still playing both.

The mod is by Xilandro Axeuora, who says it is compatible with "everything." The mod allows users to change the position of the window and its size, and it matches whatever HUD color the user has chosen.

For those wondering, there does not appear to be any quick loot mods for Fallout 3; a type of quick loot menu was brought into The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim with this mod in January.

Fallout 4 gets official mod support for Windows PC with the release of a Creation Kit sometime after its round of premium DLC is done launching by next month. Mod support will then come to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, in that order, in the following two months.

Fallout 4 will also get, for free, an update sometime this month that adds a survival mode that ramps up the difficulty and the demands to keep your character alive in the Commonwealth. Some of its features recall New Vegas' fan-favorite hardcore mode option, along with many new ones it will introduce. This mode is currently in beta for PC. Read up on it all here.
