Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o is in talks with Marvel to star opposite Chadwick Boseman in the stand-alone Black Panther movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Nyong'o's potential character has not been revealed, but she would play the love interest of Boseman's Panther, which fans would have seen in Captain America: Civil War.
The actress most recently played Maz Kanata in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens and did some voice work in Disney's new Jungle Book adaptation.
Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) will direct and write the stand-alone movie for Marvel, which is set to be released Feb. 16, 2018.
