After just two seasons, ABC has decided to cancel Agent Carter, citing rating problems as the main point of concern, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Despite the critical praise the show received and its dedicated fanbase, the series was only drawing in 4.3 million viewers (which included those who recorded an episode and watched it at a later time or date) and a 1.9 in the ratings. Both of these numbers are extremely low in comparison to Marvel's other big show on ABC, Agents of Shield.
Instead of renewing Agent Carter, ABC has ordered an Agents of SHIELD spinoff that will focus on Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) and Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki), called Marvel's Most Wanted.
The last season of Agent Carter ended with an emotional rollercoaster, but there's no word from Marvel or ABC on whether a special is in the works to answer some big questions.
