Sony's E3 2016 press conference set for June 13

Cue up those livestreams

Sony Interactive Entertainment will hold its E3 2016 press briefing at 6 p.m. PT on Monday, June 13, the company announced today.

Known simply as the E3 2016 PlayStation Press Conference, the event will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the same venue that Sony used in 2014.

Sony is taking its typical Monday evening spot, along with Microsoft in the morning and Ubisoft in the afternoon. Ubisoft, however, is going a bit earlier than usual, near the slot that Electronic Arts vacated this year. EA is hosting a live event called EA Play on the afternoon of Sunday, June 12. Monday afternoon will also feature the second annual PC Gaming Show.

There's no word at this point whether Sony will once again broadcast its E3 press conference in movie theaters across North America, which is something the company did in both of the past two years. We've reached out to Sony to ask, and will update this article with any information we receive.

Correction: Sony hosted its E3 2015 press briefing at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, not the Shrine Auditorium. We've edited the article to reflect this.
