Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 headed stateside this year

That countdown clock's still ticking, though

Bandai Namco announced today that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. The company will release the sequel to last year's Dragon Ball Xenoverse later this year.

More details about how this game expands on its predecessor, which offered extensive character customization, will be revealed at this year's E3 in June. For now, Bandai Namco promises that this game will feature "the most detailed Dragon Ball world ever developed."

The trailer above teases what that world will look like. Fans will recognize several familiar characters, like Trunks and Frieza; the developer also hints at a story concerning the series' past and future.

Yesterday, Bandai Namco and Toei Animation (which produces the animated Dragon Ball series and films) launched a teaser site counting down to a Dragon Ball-themed reveal. Strangely enough, that clock is still going, although it's likely pointing toward the Xenoverse 2 announcement.

Update: The teaser site is currently down — but it now redirects to DragonBallXenoverse2.com.
