Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 developer EA Canada is working on the shooter's second expansion, Trouble in Zombopolis: Part One, and the free add-on is set to deliver a bunch of new content this summer, the studio announced today.

Trouble in Zombopolis: Part One, which presumably is the first entry in a multipart series, brings in a new environment: the city of Zombopolis, which Garden Warfare 2 creative director Justin Wiebe describes as "the biggest zombie city we've ever built." Zombopolis is the site of a new Herbal Assault map.

In the undead metropolis, Dr. Zomboss is threatening plant life yet again with a new weapon, a Mega Zombot. He'll have a new zombie character at his disposal, the "bacon-caped crusader" known as Breakfast Brainz, and the plant side will counter with Toxic Citron.

Trouble in Zombopolis: Part One will also add more than 1,200 new customization items in the Zany Zombopolis Pack. The update will include a host of bug fixes, balance changes and other elements as well; you can check out the full patch notes on the game's website. Trouble in Zombopolis: Part One follows the Graveyard Variety Pack, a free update to Garden Warfare 2 that was released in March. For more on the game, you can read our review.
