The next entry in the 25-year-old Raiden series, Raiden 5, is coming to Xbox One in North America and Europe May 11, developer Moss confirmed today. You can see the shooting game, which is well known in the world, and its gameplay systems in action in the trailer above — which you should definitely watch.

Raiden 5, like every other Raiden game, is a vertically-scrolling arcade-style shoot 'em up. However, the latest entry will have dynamic camera angles, and players will be absorbed in the game when they get on the seamless stages and experience the stage effects with camera works, as noted in the above trailer.

For the first time in the series, multi aircrafts, as outlined in Moss' new trailer, come onstage. Ships from Japan (Azuma), America (Spirit of Dragon) and France (Moulin Rouge) will be playable, as will nine kinds of shots.

Raiden 5 will also introduce a new type of shooting game using online: the "Cheer" system. As mentioned in today's trailer, players can give a nice cheers for plays each other. In other words, as players pull off nice moves in Raiden 5's story mode, other players online can commend them for their bullet hell-dodging skills and vice versa. A special Cheer Attack can be acquired and unleashed.

Moss is also using a portion of the game's visual real estate to let players confirm the various information: a score meter, number of cheers, play data, advice from the developer and more. More details on Raiden 5's gameplay systems are available at its English website.
