Over the weekend Z-Man Games released a teaser trailer for the next version of the hit board game series Pandemic. Called Pandemic Iberia, it's set on the Iberian Peninsula in 1848, and features all new character classes and powers.
Iberia is a cooperative game for up to five players who will take on the role of Nurse, Railwayman, Rural Doctor and Sailor. They will have to cure four historical diseases that ravaged the region around that time: malaria, typhus, yellow fever and cholera.
"From Barcelona to Lisboa, travel by carriage, by boat, or by train, and help the Iberian populace by developing railways and distributing purified water in this new version of Pandemic," publisher F2Z Entertainment said in a press release. "Discover a unique part of the world during the historically significant time period that is the construction of the first railroad in the Iberian Peninsula called the Spring of Nations."
Matt Leacock, the designer of the original Pandemic and co-designer of Pandemic: Legacy, is on board for this game. Also joining him for Iberia is designer Jesús Torres Castro. The fall 2016 release will be a limited collector's edition and no quantities have been announced.
