Watch Matthew McConaughey audition for Star Wars in deleted SNL gag

He wants to bring back Lando

Back in November, Saturday Night Live aired one of the best sketches of the season: a fake audition segment for the still unreleased Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, an extended version of the clip has been uploaded to the show's YouTube page, and it includes some pretty funny moments along with some pretty bad impressions.

The most notable is Matthew McConaughey's impression of Lando Carlissian. In the clip, McConaughey thinks it's time to bring back Lando, and offers to play the famous character. In his "audition," he holds up a photo of actor Billy Dee Williams and tries to lower his voice to match Williams' tone, but the results are, unfortunately, not overwhelmingly impressive.

Besides McConaughey, the deleted scene also features Vanessa Bayer doing a spot-on impression of Jennifer Lawrence and actual Force Awakens star John Boyega ripping on his stormtrooper colleague, TK-420.

"King Kong ain't got shit on me," Boyega yells at one point, while trying to play a "street version" of his character, Finn.

Saturday Night Live had its season finale last week and will return this September, although no premiere date has been announced just yet.
