The Game Awards — the annual, Geoff Keighley-hosted awards show and premiere extravaganza — will air this year on Dec. 1, 2016. This year's event will be the show's third outing and will be shown live "on every gaming screen" and in VR, according to promotional materials.
Banners announcing the date of this year's Game Awards currently hang outside the Los Angeles Convention Center, where E3 will take place next week. Keighley confirmed the date on the show's official Twitter account, promising more details this summer.
In an email to Polygon, Keighley said the show's organizers are still working on their plans for The Game Awards 2016, and didn't have much more to share.
Last year's show was held in Los Angeles and was watched by 2.3 million viewers. The show featured announcements for Telltale Games' Batman title, Psychonauts 2, Rocket League for Xbox One and more.
