The next Legend of Zelda game has a subtitle: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime touted the game as a completely different approach. The introductory trailer showed scenes in an open world, followed by Link exploring, taming a horse, cooking food, hunting animals, crafting structures and other activities.
"This is easily one of the biggest experiences ever created by Nintendo," Fils-Aime said.
The newest Legend of Zelda game was first discussed at E3 2013. Last year, producer Eiji Aonuma announced that the game was delayed from its original 2015 launch window, and it was not shown at E3.
Then in April, Nintendo announced that the game would be delayed until March 2017, so that it could launch simultaneously on Wii U and Nintendo's newest console, code-named the NX.
