Nier: Automata, sequel to 2010’s Nier, will hit the PlayStation 4 in early 2017, not this year as originally planned, according to publisher Square Enix.
The PlatinumGames-developed action role-playing game tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 as they fight to reclaim the mechanoid-driven dystopia overrun by powerful weapons known as "machine lifeforms."
The main playable character in the game is 2B, a battle android and member of the automated infantry squad YoRHa. She is equipped with a sword for close quarters combat and the "Pod" support system for ranged battle.
