Iconic British actress Helen Mirren is the latest star to join Vin Diesel and the rest of the Fast 8 crew.
Mirren, who's won multiple awards for her work in film and television, told Elle Magazine that she was joining the movie and has been a fan of cars and driving for most of her life. Mirren didn't say who she would be playing or what her role would be in the film, but the feature is currently in production.
Just before Mirren signed onto the project, Charlize Theron announced that she would also be involved. At the time there wasn't much information on her role, but Paramount Pictures recently confirmed that she would be playing Cipher, the newest villain in the franchise who has taken on armies, mercenaries and other foes.
Fast 8, which also stars regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and the aforementioned Diesel, will be released on April 14, 2017.
