One of the highest ranking Overwatch players in the world, Gegury, has been cleared by Blizzard Korea over allegations that she had somehow managed to hack her way to a top spot position.
The 17-year-old, who plays as Zarya, first caught the eye of other Overwatch players when she began to compete in regional tournaments. With a win rate of 80 percent in 420 games played, Gegury quickly became one of the most revered players, but it wasn't until her team kicked out some of the other major Korean teams while playing in the Nexus Cup qualifier that people started accusing her of cheating.
To prove that she wasn't using any kind of cheating method to win games, Gegury streamed herself playing the game live, even after Blizzard Korea had cleared the accusations. Her stream can be seen in the video above. By the end of the stream, Gegury was in tears, and said the stress of the accusations over the past few days had finally gotten to her.
While it's been quiet on the accusation front, two professional players who previously said they'd quit playing if it turned out Gegury wasn't cheating kept their word. According to Reddit user Calycae, they've also decided to stay away from the scene entirely.
On her Twitter feed, Gegury said she wasn't expecting this amount of attention from other Overwatch players and the media. She added that once she joins her team officially, she'll begin streaming more often.
