Bryan Cranston, the man who sparked fear into the hearts of millions as Walter White in Breaking Bad, is about to play a floating head in the new Power Rangers movie.
Cranston confirmed his role as Zordon on Twitter earlier today. In the Power Rangers universe, Zordon acts as a mentor to the group of teen heroes and first appeared in the first season of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Prior to his role as their mentor, Zordon faced off against his nemesis, Rita Repulsa (who will be played by Elizabeth Banks in the film) on Earth thousands of years before the Rangers came into existence.
Power Rangers will star Dacre Montgomery as Jason, RJ Cyler as Billy, Naomi Scott as Kimberly, Becky G as Trini, and Ludi Lin as Zack. The film follows the five teenagers as they learn they have to "become something extraordinary" in order to save the world from an impending alien attack.
The film is being directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) and is slated to be released March 24, 2017.
