The announcement trailer for Sid Meier's Civilization 6 was narrated by Lord Eddard "Ned" Stark himself, Sean Bean, and that was nice enough. Now publisher 2K Games has released Civilization 6's full E3 gameplay demo, and it also features the most killed-off actor in screen history.
Sure, sure, the game looks great and all in this 12-minute video. The new geographical constraints on building out your cities sounds like a major and meaningful change to the Civilization franchise. But hearing Bean describe new mechanics like that one, in his deep Yorkshire accent, is a treat for the ears indeed.
"A new age is upon us, and we find ourselves but one part of a larger world," Bean intones, as the civilization in the video encounters the U.S. and President Theodore Roosevelt. "We are no longer alone."
We'll take our civilization to the ends of the Earth with you as our adviser, Sean Bean.
Civilization 6 launches Oct. 21 on Windows PC. Linux and Mac versions are also in development. For more, check out our hands-on report from last month.
