Bandai Namco is making a proper sequel to Pac-Man Championship Edition, according to listings on Korea's game ratings board. Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 has been rated for release on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One today by the country's Game Rating and Administration Committee.
The original Pac-Man Championship Edition, which first hit Xbox Live Arcade in 2007, was released for Android, iOS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A follow-up, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, was released in 2010 on a variety of platforms.
Both titles were praised for their inventive, colorful take on the maze-running, dot-eating, ghost-avoiding mechanics of Namco's 36 year old franchise. Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 appears to be a different title from those two games, though the ratings board does not provide much in the way of details.
Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 has not been officially announced by publisher Bandai Namco. We've contacted the company for details on the game.
