Sonic's getting another video game, this one a 25th anniversary edition launching sometime in 2017.
Takashi Iizuka confirmed plans for the new game at a Tokyo celebration yesterday, reports Gematsu. Full details are coming July 22 at San Diego Comic-Con; that event will be livestreamed.
Sonic's latest endeavor is the Sonic Boom series, tied in with the TV franchise of the same name. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is due for the Nintendo 3DS this September. In 2011, on Sonic's 20th birthday, Sega launched Sonic Generations, the last Sonic platforming title published for Xbox or PlayStation.
When last seen, Sonic was on Twitter crapping all over Mighty No. 9, which finally launched on Tuesday.
