The high real estate drama and endless grind of role-playing game Final Fantasy 7 will be coming to family board game night next year with the release of Final Fantasy 7 Monopoly. Square Enix’s PlayStation classic will see its characters, locations and lore adapted for the turn-based, "fast-dealing property trading game."
Retailer Merchoid prices Final Fantasy 7 Monopoly at $49.99 and dates the board game for an April 2017 release. Preliminary box art has been released, which you can see below, but images of the board and play pieces have not been made available.
Here’s what Merchoid does have to say about FF7’s Monopoly adaptation:
"Whether your plans are to buy housing for the people or build a Mako reactor plant, you'll soon discover the real nature of Sephiroth's evil is the extortionate amount of rent he charges."

Final Fantasy 7 joins a long list of video game properties that have made the transition to Monopoly form, including Super Mario Bros., World of Warcraft, Assassin’s Creed, Fallout and The Legend of Zelda.
In addition to the newly announced Monopoly port, Square Enix is also working on a remake of Final Fantasy 7 for PlayStation 4.
