Pick up BioShock 1 and 2 for $3.99 now on Steam, get upgraded versions for free later

You don't need to pick up the collection to benefit from it

BioShock: The Collection is coming, complete with visually enhanced versions of the first two games, but players on the PC have a neat way of taking advantage of this fact for only a few bucks.

The first two BioShock games are available on Steam right now for only $3.99:

So why buy them now when better versions are coming? Because you'll get the updated visuals on PC for free!

"If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den on Steam, you will be able to upgrade to the remastered version of the respective title(s) for free after release," the page on Steam states. "It’s a circus of values!"

BioShock Infinite won't be updated because it already takes advantage of higher end PCs, but it's also on sale for $7.99 if you haven't played it.

BioShock: The Collection is pretty exciting, and it still may be the right choice for you if you're a superfan and want all the content in one go, but picking up the three games on PC right now and getting the updated version of the first two when the collection launches is a pretty good deal during the sale.
