Persona 5 coming to North America in February 2017

Spend your Valentine's Day with demons and drama

Atlus announced today that its anticipated next installment in the Persona franchise, Persona 5, won't be available to play in North America until Feb. 14, 2017.

Players will have the option to choose from three different bundles, including a steelbook launch edition and a "Take Your Heart" premium edition. The steelbook edition is self-explanatory, but the "Take Your Heart' edition comes with a variety of extra goodies including a school bag, a 4-inch Morgana plush, a soundtrack CD, a hardcover book of the game's art, a collector's box and, of course, the game. Artwork for both versions can be seen below.

The steelbook edition of the game will be $59.99, while the "Take Your Heart" edition will run for $79.99. Both will only be made available on the Playstation 4.

The publisher confirmed last month that the game would be coming to Japan on Sept. 15, and debuted the first trailer for the new title, which can be seen above. The Sept. 15 release date is just five days before the franchise's 20th anniversary. Accompanying the release of the game is a Persona 5 movie, called Persona 5 The Animation: The Day Breakers, which will also be made available in September.

Atlus originally announced the release of the game in 2013, with an expected release window of winter 2014. The game was delayed, however, to 2015 where it was once again delayed until now.

Persona 5 will be released for both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. More information will become available next week after the publisher's appearance at E3 in Los Angeles.
