Story of Seasons sequel heads West next year

That's Bokujo Monogatari for you diehards

Xseed Games will publish Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns in 2017, the company announced today, just a week ahead of the game's E3 2016 debut. The Nintendo 3DS game serves as a follow-up to 2015's Story of Seasons, the first title launched for the re-branded franchise formerly known as Harvest Moon.

Trio of Towns will introduce several locations — three towns, in fact — that aspiring farmers can travel between. These include a Western-style village, a Japanese-influenced area and a mysterious, beachy locale. Each one comes with unique crops, animals and suitable bachelors.

Players can connect over Wi-Fi to further enhance the experience, Xseed said. These and other features will be revealed at E3 and closer to the game's release next year.

For farming simulation fans, a new game in Natsume's own Harvest Moon series — developed specifically for Western audiences — is also coming to Nintendo 3DS. The company announced that Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will make an appearance at its E3 2016 booth.
