Speedrunning charity event Games Done Quick is kicking off its summer marathon this Sunday, giving us a weeklong look at the best players beating and breaking dozens of classic and modern video games.
Summer Games Done Quick starts July 3 at 11:30 a.m. CT. After a pre-show, the speedrunning will commence with Super Mario Sunshine, which runner "Bounceyboy" should complete in under 90 minutes. From there, speedruns will happen all day and all night through July 9, when the marathon concludes with a 3-hour sprint of Super Mario RPG.
You can check out the full schedule for Summer Games Done Quick 2016 at the official site. The entire event will be broadcast on Games Done Quick’s Twitch channel.
This year’s Summer Games Done Quick will feature an eclectic mix of classic and modern games, including Super Mario Maker, Fallout 4, Metroid Prime, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Demon's Souls, Typing of the Dead and Pepsiman.
Summer Games Done Quick 2016 will raise money for charity organization Doctors Without Borders. The speedrunning group’s most recent marathon event, Awesome Games Done Quick, raised more than $1.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation earlier this year.
