It looks like Snapchat may be trying to cash in on the Pokémon Go craze.
The social app recently added an option to send pictures and videos to a live story called "Catch those Pokemon!" This would allow Pokémon Go users to share their respective Pokémon journeys using Snapchat.
This update makes sense considering Pokémon Go's strong performance in comparison to other social media apps. According to Mashable, average users are on Pokémon Go twice as long as Snapchat. Pokémon Go has also surpassed Tinder's install base on Android devices and is about to exceed Twitter in terms of daily active users.
While users can submit posts to the Pokémon Snapchat story, the story itself is currently not able to be viewed through the app. Polygon has reached out to Snapchat regarding the new story option and will update as more information becomes available.
