Celebrate the film by going behind-the-scenes

During Star Wars Celebration 2016, the cast and crew behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuted new footage from the upcoming film, which hits theaters Dec. 16. Watch above to see the "celebration reel," a making-of featurette that mixes behind-the-scenes footage and new clips of the film.

Rebel soldier Jyn Erso and Captain Cassian Andor, played by Felicity Jones and Diego Luna respectively, take center stage in many of the clips. You'll also get a look at director Gareth Edwards out in the desert during the production of the film, talking about the risk he's taking with the unique, upcoming Star Wars feature.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first Star Wars anthology film; it's set before the original trilogy, and will feature appearances from new characters and fan favorites, including Darth Vader.

Star Wars Celebration 2016 is happening all weekend, and Polygon will be following along for the latest news on the anticipated film. Check out our StoryStream for even more coverage from the European event, whose first panel is streaming right now.
