Street Fighter 5 getting new Capcom Pro Tour and 'nostalgic' DLC

Throwbacks to Street Fighter 2 and 3 in the works, Capcom says

Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5 is getting a batch of "nostalgic" downloadable content later this year, game director Takayuki Nakayama announced at a panel at Evo 2016 today.

Included as part of that DLC are new costumes for Ibuki and Alex based on their Street Fighter 3 outfits. Ibuki's familiar ninja costume and Alex's ending costume, complete with leather jacket, are in development, though Capcom says the release timing for both is still a secret.

Additionally, Capcom is working on a new stage for Street Fighter 5 that's based on Bison's classic Thailand stage from Street Fighter 2. Here's a look at that nostalgic DLC from today's panel.

While the release date for that nostalgic DLC is still unknown, Capcom came to Evo 2016 armed with new content ready to drop today. The Capcom Pro Tour Premier Package is available now from the PlayStation Store and includes new costumes for Chun-Li, Cammy and an unspecified third character. It's not clear if that third CPT Premier costume is for an existing character, a future DLC character (like Juri) or a character that hasn't been announced yet.

In addition to the CPT Premier costumes, a new Capcom Pro Tour stage — a boxing ring called Ring of Destiny — is also available for purchase. A bundle containing all the CPT Premier content also contains 22 color variations for existing characters and in-game titles "Capcom Cup 2016" and "Capcom Pro Tour 2016." The CPT Premier Package costs $24.99.

Street Fighter 5 players looking for even more color variations for their World Warriors will soon be able to purchase them. Currently, many of those colors are locked behind certain achievements in Street Fighter 5's survival mode, which Capcom admits "can be a pain to go through."
