Evo 2016's first champion has been crowned. "Saint," a Tekken player from Korea, won this morning's grand finals in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, besting another Korean player, "Knee."

Saint defeated Knee 3-2, playing as Jack-7 against Bryan Fury. Knee fought his way through the Tekken 7 losers bracket as Bryan, pulling off a few perfect rounds along the way. When Knee ultimately faced Saint in the grand finals, Saint won the first two games, then suffered a pair of losses to Knee. In the final game of the match, each player won two rounds, though Saint emerged victorious in the final round.

Tekken 7 was featured as one of Evo's nine main games for the first time this year. The game is coming to consoles in 2017.

Today's Tekken 7 finals can be watched in the Twitch video above. Or you can watch just the grand finals in the YouTube video below.

Saturday will also see champions crowned in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Pokkén Tournament and Killer Instinct. Sunday's finals include Mortal Kombat X, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Street Fighter 5. Check out Evo 2016's full schedule here.
