A set of PlayStation 4 trophies that showed up sometime over the weekend hints that Dead Rising — an Xbox 360 exclusive when it launched 10 years ago — is coming to PlayStation 4.
Update: Capcom replied to say that Dead Rising is coming not only to PlayStation 4, but also to Windows PC and Xbox One. Additionally, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One. No launch dates were given; the publisher said more news would be coming soon. The original post follows.
Dead Rising was a hit on Xbox 360 when it launched in 2006 and did much to usher in the craze for zombie-themed games on the last console generation, persisting into the newest one. An homage to George Romero's zombie classic Dawn of the Dead, the game was followed in 2010 by Dead Rising 2, which launched on PlayStation 3 and Windows PC as well.
The original protagonist, Frank West, came to PlayStation 3 first in 2011's Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, a reimagining of the first Dead Rising 2 with West taking the lead role from the new character Chuck Greene. Dead Rising 3, launched in 2013, was exclusive to Xbox One, and Dead Rising 4 coming at the end of this year, will be an Xbox One and Windows PC exclusive as well.
