Square Enix will give away Life is Strange: Episode One indefinitely, the publisher announced this morning. Starting tomorrow, July 21, the award-winning episodic adventure game will become free to start on all available platforms.
That means that those who have yet to discover Max and Chloe's supernatural coming-of-age drama can try out Life is Strange at no cost. The remaining four episodes and the all-inclusive season pass will continue to come with a price tag, however.
Currently, the free Life is Strange offer is available on Mac, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game is heading to Linux as well.
Life is Strange has regularly received discounts since its first episode premiered last year, but even at full price, the game is worth the leap — especially now that anyone can get a taste for it from the beginning. The full first season made our Game of the Year list in 2015, with the opening installment in particular earning praise in our review.
