Suda51’s The Silver Case remastered has a trailer

Point-and-click like it’s 1999

Grasshopper Manufacture just released the first trailer for the HD remastering of their 1999 debut title, The Silver Case, directed by Goichi "Suda51" Suda.

While the developer has become well-known for stylized action titles like Killer7, No More Heroes and Lollipop Chainsaw, The Silver Case is a point-and-click mystery adventure game revolving around a police investigation of a string of murders committed by a serial killer previously believed to be dead.

The trailer showcases updated character designs and music, as well as the game’s unique presentation system called "Film Window," which progresses the story through dialogue and text while also displaying visual elements like photographs, 3D renderings and video.

First released for the original PlayStation exclusively in Japan, this year’s remaster marks the first time The Silver Case will be localized in English. The remaster is scheduled for release this fall on Windows PC through Steam and Japanese indie-focused distribution platform Playism. The game’s price is currently not set, but is listed as $14.99 on its Playism store page.
