Actress Brie Larson will play Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige confirmed at today's San Diego Comic-Con presentation.
Brie was previously rumored to suit up as Captain Marvel when reports that she was in talks to take on the role emerged last month.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit movie theaters March 8, 2019. Nicole Perlman, who co-wrote Guardians of the Galaxy, and Meg LaFauve, are attached to write the screenplay.
