Blizzard rolled out a new patch for the Windows PC version of Overwatch earlier today that give’s new character Ana a boost and makes McCree a bit less effective at longer range.
Ana’s changes affect her Biotic Rifle, which now fires at a rate 20 percent faster and can hold 10 rounds, up from eight. Blizzard says the tweak will address her overall weakness. "In addition to helping her feel better to play, these changes should also increase her healing and damage output," Blizzard said in a forum post.
McCree, who saw a substantial nerf last month, see his damage falloff range decreased on his primary fire, while his alternate fire gets a 15 percent increase in rate of fire. McCree will also recover faster after throwing his flashbang.
"McCree’s latest range increase helped him quite a bit, but it was a bit too much in the right hands," Blizzard said in its patch notes. "This change weakens his long range damage somewhat, but still keeps it stronger than it has been in the recent past. The other changes combine to allow him to land more alternate fire shots on targets that he has hit with Flashbang."
Today’s Overwatch update is only available in the Windows PC version. Blizzard says the changes will be rolled into a larger update for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
