The buttons, ports and thumbsticks of the new Xbox One S controller

Here's what the vanilla version looks like

The new Xbox One S controller goes on sale Aug. 2 for $59.99 and one of the non-custom versions just showed up on our doorstep.

Earlier this week we showed you what a customized version of the new Xbox One S controller looks like. Our's was an attempt at capturing the retro colors of the original Game Boy in a new Xbox One controller.

We also wrote up our impressions of the controller, which includes new features like improved thumbsticks, a better grip coating for the horns and Bluetooth support. You can read about our thoughts (and our other favorite controllers for Windows PC gaming) right here.

But here's a close look at what a standard new controller looks like, stripped of any color options or custom laser engraving.
