The newest trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the wizarding movie based on J.K. Rowling's book of the same name, is abundant with magical creatures and ominous messages from the muggle community about witches and wizards.
The trailer premiered during the Olympic Games and features lead actor Eddie Redmayne — who will be playing researcher Newt Scamander — chasing down a giant, white creature that almost looks like a griffin, accompanied by his friend. In the book, it's Newt's job to track down various creatures that have escaped from his research bag in New York before the muggles discover their very existence.
The distrust between some of the muggles in New York and the wizarding community that is growing is also featured in the trailer. It's apparent that the muggle community is not only scared of what wizards and witches can do — not to mention the strange creatures they bring with them — but are also disgusted and offended by their very existence. It seems pretty likely that director David Yates will explore the tense relationship between the two groups in the film.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them also stars Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Ron Pearlman and Jon Voight. The movie will be released Nov. 18, 2016.
