It wouldn't be a Call of Duty game without a zombie component, and the one accompanying Infinite Warfare this year looks like it's heading back to the 1980s.
In a series of unboxing videos from prominent YouTube personalities who received packages from Call of Duty publisher Activision, different items related to the zombie-level can be seen. Everything from old-school running shoes to a classic VHS tape that allegedly contains a trailer for the add-on came with the package, which remained on a timed lock until today. Included in the package was a map that refers to the level as "Zombies in Spaceland."
According to the back of the VHS tape, which can be seen here, the zombie level will follow a famous horror director from the '80s who seemingly retreated from the world of fame, remaining behind the walls of his studio. Now, however, the director has a new movie that promises to be more deadly and gruesome than any of his previous work and that's where Infinite Warfare's zombie mode will supposedly take its inspiration.
Activision has not posted the trailer for the mode on YouTube or Twitter yet, but many of the YouTube personalities are attempting to find a VHS player to access the footage. One YouTube user uploaded footage taken of the trailer from the VHS tape, which can be seen below. Polygon will update the story when Activision posts the official trailer.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released Nov. 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
