Fresh off her North American tour, vocaloid Hatsune Miku has discovered a new way to entertain and engage with fans — virtual reality.
Sega announced at Gamescom today that it would be releasing a stand-alone Hatsune Miku experience exclusively for the PlayStation VR this fall. Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live essentially transports users to a venue where the vocaloid will be performing, transforming the Move controller they'll use into a glow stick that will add a more immersive experience for the player. Throughout the performance, there will be cues for players to get as energetic as possible, prompting them to swing their controller more frequently or at a faster rate. Once enough energy is collected, players will be transported on stage for a one-on-one encore with Hatsune Miku.
Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live will be released as a PlayStation Network title on Oct. 14 in both North American and European markets. Sega has not announced a price for the title yet.
