J.K. Rowling to release three Harry Potter-related ebooks in September

Includes some never-before-read information about characters, Hogwarts

J.K. Rowling may have announced that she's done with the main story in Harry Potter following the debut of her new play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, but the author isn't quite finished with the magical world her famous character inhabits.

Pottermore, where Rowling blogs about her creations, said this morning that  three ebooks are coming and will expand the story of Hogwarts. The ebooks are a combination of new work and writing that Rowling has posted on Pottermore previously.

The first three ebooks in the new series will focus on Hogwarts specifically with future books lined up to be released down the road that will examine other aspects of magical culture.

The first ebook will focus on the poltergeists that roam the Hogwarts hallways, plus some original writing on important characters like Dolores Umbridge and Quirinus Quirrell. The book will take an in-depth look at the darker side of the wizarding world as seen through the most popular school in the franchise. The second ebook will focus on the heroic acts that Hogwarts has seen over the years and provide some new information on Professor McGonagall and Remus Lupin. The final ebook that will be released this fall will focus entirely on the hidden and secret rooms Hogwarts houses, including some that were never mentioned in the original series.

Each ebook will be approximately 10,000 words long and will be available in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese. The books were designed specifically for readers on the go, with most of the ebooks offered able to be consumed in about an hour or so.

The books will be available for $2.99 and sold through the Pottermore Shop, as well as other digital retailers on Sept. 6.
