Disgaea 2 is heading to Steam next year

A few new characters will be brought into the mix

Disgaea 2, the popular tactical role-playing game by Nippon Ichi Software, is heading to Mac and Windows PC in January.

This second entry in the Disgaea franchise joins the original, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, which was ported to Steam in February. Similar to that release, the Steam version of Disgaea 2 will be retitled Disgaea 2 PC. Unlike the first game, though, Disgaea 2 PC will also be compatible with Mac and Steam Machines.

So far, there have been two versions of Disgaea 2. The first, called Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, was released in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and a PSP version, Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days, came out in 2009 and featured extra material like new characters, monsters and spells.

Disgaea 2 PC will contain all content from both versions along with an updated user interface and three characters which, until now, were exclusive to Japan.

Disgaea 2 PC will launch on Steam Jan. 30.
