Titan Quest gets massive free update for its 10-year anniversary

Action role-playing game Titan Quest just got a major update from its publisher, the recently rebranded THQ Nordic, that adds more than a thousand tweaks, bug fixes and balance changes to the 10-year-old Windows PC game. Dubbed Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, the new release combines developer Iron Lore Entertainment’s Titan Quest and its expansion, Immortal Throne, into one game.

According to an update from THQ Nordic, the new update "completely reworks" the game’s multiplayer, stability, performance, balancing and AI. You can view a full list of changes in Titan Quest Anniversary Edition’s change log.

Some of the more noteworthy changes in Titan Quest Anniversary Edition include built-in voice chat, support for larger resolution, "dozens" of new heroes and bosses, support for mods and Steam Workshop integration.

THQ Nordic says it’s giving the Anniversary Edition version of the game to anyone who owns Titan Quest, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne or Titan Quest Gold on Steam. For everyone else, the game is currently on sale for $4.99, 75 percent off its normal asking price.

The original Titan Quest was published by THQ in 2006. The action RPG, in the style of Blizzard’s Diablo games, sent players to Ancient Greece, Egypt and China where they battle mythological creatures. The game and its intellectual property were picked up by Nordic Games when THQ auctioned off its properties in 2013.

Nordic Games rebranded itself THQ Nordic earlier this month.
