Nintendo will release several The Legend of Zelda-themed amiibo in celebration of the game's 30th anniversary, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime announced today.
The series includes an 8-bit Link, Link from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and figures for both Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The amiibo will have the same function as their Smash Bros. counterparts for each respective character, Fils-Aime said. They will, however, have special functionality with the next entry in the long-running franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo will release the figures on Dec. 2.
