Spider-Man and Deadpool finally meet up in a new fan edit

“Oh, hey.”

Captain America: Civil War was one of the best Marvel movies to date, but one aspect the film was missing was the inclusion of certain characters, like Deadpool.

In a new video created by YouTube user Zach Ace, Spider-Man meets Deadpool for the first time during his climactic fight scene with Captain America. In the scene, the two introduce themselves to one another and have an awkward but still oh-so-adorable conversation before Spider-Man jumps back into the fight.

Although the two haven’t met each other on the big screen, the characters have a pretty lengthy history with one another in the comics. The two first met up in Amazing Spider-Man #611, but had appeared in other Marvel comics before that. They’ve gone on adventures together, appeared in each other’s video games, and have developed a rabid fanbase over the course of their friendship.

Recently, Marvel and Sony teamed up to produce a new Spider-Man movie that will introduce the character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there aren’t any plans at this time for Marvel and Fox to partner up. That means those waiting for a Spider-Man and Deadpool crossover may be waiting for quite some time before — or if — it happens.

Spider-Man: Homecoming rolls into theaters July 7, 2017.
