Disney’s newest princess tale about a Polynesian girl in the South Pacific, Moana, finally has its first full-length trailer.
The film follows a young Hawaiian girl named Moana (voiced by 14-year-old actress Auli'i Cravahlo) as she sets off on an adventure with the demi-god Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) to try and find a fabled land in the world of Oceana. During her travels, she and Maui will experience "enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds, and ancient folklore" according to the studio.
Moana marks the first time that the studio has introduced a Polynesian character into its animated world. Disney has received quite a bit of criticism over the years from fans and critics alike for its lack of diversity in its characters. The studio has said it has been trying to rectify that by adding more diverse voices and cultures to its lineup.
Moana is set to be released Nov. 23.
