Modern Warfare Remastered will have all of the original maps, after all

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has all 16 of the original game’s maps, Activision announced during its Call of Duty XP fan event today. That’s up from the amount the publisher originally promised when the game was announced in June.

Although Modern Warfare Remastered is a high-definition upgrade of the 2007 monster hit, the publisher previously said that only 10 multiplayer maps would be included. In a sense, that’s still true: When it launches alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on Nov. 4, only 10 of the maps will be available that same day. The remaining six will go live in December.

Sony and Activision are teaming up to bring exclusives to PlayStation 4 owners, including early access to Modern Warfare Remastered’s single-player mode. Pre-purchasing the game on the PlayStation Store lets you get into the campaign on Oct. 5, with multiplayer going live on Infinite Warfare’s launch day.

Infinite Warfare will also receive a multiplayer beta that PS4 players can check out on Oct. 14; Xbox One gets it at a later date, and the beta is skipping Windows PC entirely. The full game will be available on all three systems.

Modern Warfare Remastered ships with the Legacy Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and Legacy Pro Edition of Infinite Warfare, with no plans to make it available as a stand-alone release.
